May Heek looks at abstractions as a possible tool to question and widen the meaning of existing knowledge and the things we assume. How do we define the edge of knowing and un-knowing? By scrutinizing the purpose of representation, the work approaches new ways of seeing and detachment of connotation, that could potentially become systems for (non)physical communication and reflexivity.
In print, video and light based installations the work explores surface qualities, sensory experiences and indirect ways of perceiving images through reflectiveness.
